NEW BUSINESS CARDS

Last week I ordered myself a new set of business cards for islaay.com as I had finally used up all of my Moo ones which I purchased a while back. I bought these ones from Vistaprint- I ordered 250 of the full colour, double sided premium cards and including postage I paid around £20 for them. I designed them myself using Picmonkey and got some layout inspiration from Pinterest which is full of ideas.
If you are a blogger or have a small business I would highly recommend getting a set of business cards- they are great to give out to people that you meet at press events, meet ups and any other people you meet that you want to share your link with.

Some websites to check out for affordable business cards are Vistaprint and Moo- both of which always seem to have different offers on. I would recommend ordering the sample pack from both websites to see the different designs and finishes that you can have before ordering a full set of your own design.

HALO HAIR BRAID TUTORIAL

Just a quick blog post this morning to show you how I did my hair today. I was watching Lauren's halo/heidi braid hair tutorial whilst I was doing my makeup this morning and thought I would give it a go as I've never done anything like it before and I really liked how it turned out!

I'm off to Brighton this afternoon with my mum for a surprise birthday/mothers day out for her and I'm going to try and film what we get up to and I will put it up as a vlog on my YouTube channel. I spent a while yesterday re-ogranising and having a massive clear out of my makeup- my room feels so much bigger now that I've cleared lots of space!

What have you been up to this weekend? Don't forget to check out Lauren's video!

HOW I MAKE MY HAIR GROW QUICKLY- ALPECIN CAFFEINE SHAMPOO REVIEW

I recently bought this well hidden beauty product- marketed for aging and balding men, and designed to promote hair growth by stimulating and strengthening the root. After hearing a YouTuber mention it, I bought the Alpecin Caffeine shampoo around a month ago on a bit of a whim and without doing any research on it first.
The initial thing which I noticed about the Caffeine shampoo was the smell. It has the typical 'clean man' smell to it, which isn't girly but I quite like the scent. The actual liquid is bright blue in colour, and has the same look to it as any normal woman's shampoo.
You use it like a regular shampoo- massaging it into wet hair and leaving for two minutes for the caffeine to do it's thing. When I apply it I properly massage it in, promoting blood flow to my scalp which is also meant to be beneficial to hair growth. I leave it for two minutes, you can feel a slight cooling/tingling sensation here as the caffeine gets to work and supposedly "travels along the hair shaft directly into the hair folicles" and, if left long enough "into the scalp".
It doesn't leave any residue at all in my hair and doesn't leave it feeling heavy or weighed down at all which is something that I was initially concerned about. It doesn't have any volumising/conditioning/split end protection etc. properties to it, so you will need to follow up using it with any conditioners, hair masks and oils which you normally use. The Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo doesn't leave my hair feeling dry at all so you probably won't need to use any extra products than you normally use to nourish and style it.
I don't really think I have any bad points to say about this shampoo. I do however not have colour treated hair and I use very minimal heat on it so I'm assuming  results may vary if you do either of these on a regular basis.

I've been using it for over a month now and during that time I've had several people commenting on the fact that my hair looks longer and I've also noticed myself that it does look longer and healthier than before. It retails for around £5 in Boots, so it is definitely worth picking up and trying if it is something that intrigues you and feel would work for you.

What do you think of the idea of using the Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo?
Are you interested in trying it?

THIS IS THE VIEW FROM THE OTHER SIDE

Dress: Chi Chi
Heels: Kurt Geiger
Bag: Tula (TKMaxx)
Nails: Jacava 'Black Forest Gateau'
 Lipstick: Chanel 'La Deseree'

When you look at these outfit photos can you please picture me having a nice, glowy tan instead of being as white as a sheet? I'm planning on wearing this Chi Chi 'Paris' dress to my summer ball which is months away but there's no harm in being prepared- right? I really like the fit of it, it's very flattering and thankfully isn't too long or short which can often happen with this style of dress. I am wearing it with my favourite ever Kurt Geigers, you can't go wrong with a super high black heels with this sort of dress. They're suede so have a slightly softer look to them than if they were a normal leather or a patent.
On my nails is a new Jacava nail polish in the shade 'Black Forest Gateau'. It's such a lovely red berry shade which applies really evenly and opaquely- you could probably get away with only having one coat if you didn't have the time or patience for two coats! Unfortunately though, I have only had it on for one day and already chipped on three of my nails- even with using my favourite Seche Vite top coat and Orly Bonder base coat.

What do you think of my Chi Chi dress? Should I wear it for my Summer Ball?

*The Chi Chi dress and Jacava nail polish were sent to me to feature in a
blog post. This however does not influence my opinion on these products
and itis 100% honest as always.

PANCAKE DAY

Seeing as today is one of the best days of the year- Pancake Day, I thought I would share with you a few photos of the Pancakes I made before they all were eaten! I had a topping combination of banana, cinnamon, Nutella and marshmallows on mine, what did you have on your pancakes? I filmed making them too which will be up on YouTube as a recipe tutorial pretty soon so look out for that!

As it's lent, I guess we're all supposed to give up something until Easter, right? What have you given up for lent?
