what's in my bag

  I haven't done a what's in my bag type thing in quite a while so I thought I would do one! All my others have been on my blog so I thought for a bit of a change I would do it as a YouTube video. My bag is from La Moda* and was only £20 which is such a bargain!
I would love it if you could subscribe to my YouTube channel if you haven't already as I'm planning on doing lots more videos when my exams are all over, yay!

what's in my iPhone tag

I saw this sort of tag going around blogs and on YouTube around a year ago so I thought I would bring it back and do it myself and show you some of my favourite apps which I use a lot and I would recommend to you- enjoy!

My phone case is from miniinthebox.com and I blogged about it in my bargain phone case post. It was a bargain at only around two pounds and I love it! Watermelons are my favourite fruit and I think this case looks so cute (it's a bit grubby now though as I've had it on my phone for ages now so sorry about that!

Marc Jacobs headphones* if most of you are anything like me then you'll pretty much constantly have your iPhone on you (I have the iPhone 4S) as there's always food to instagram or weird people on the train to tweet about... and so obviously you want your phone and the and it's accessories to look as cute as possible (who knows when you need to get out your phone to take a quick selfie...). When I got the opportunity to try out the Marc Jacobs headphones I was so excited! I love Marc Jacobs (especially his perfumes- daisy is one of my all time favourites) and I think that these headphones make such a change to the boring white apple ones which everyone else has! Compared to the Apple one I think the sound quality of these is better and I love how they actually fit in your ear properly too! I read in Vogue the other day that Marc Jacobs is 50 this year- crazyness!

wallpaper: I tend to change my wallpaper quite often but currently it is a photo of myself and my sister from when we went to London the other week. I think it's really cute and I blogged and vlogged about the couple of days I spent in London here!

the second page has all of my most used apps which I've downloaded. I use most of these every day so I like to have them at easy access. I've written a bit more in detail about some of them below but I also really love the bloglovin app for reading my favourite blogs on the go. Tv24.co.uk is great to find out the tv listings on. The YouTube app is good and is better than using the website as it's easier on the small screen and also the flashlight app is like having a torch in your pocket as it turns on the camera flash on the back of your phone

on the front page I have most of the apps which come already loaded onto the phone and I use the mos often. The google maps app is great for if you get lost as it's like having a sat nav on your phone and as I'm rubbish with directions it's great if you're trying to find how to get somewhere. I also use chrome instead of safari for my internet browser as I find it easier to use and it has better features than the safari one which the phone comes with

twitter: I'm a twitter addict and so obviously twitter had to be included in my favourite apps! It's so easy to use and it makes tweeting on the go really easy to do. I don't really have much to say about it because I'm pretty sure 90% of people with an iPhone will have the twitter app

instagram: another typical one to pick but I loveeee instagram! I upload photos to it most days and I'm always finding nail art ideas, post inspiration and recipe ideas when scrolling through my timeline and looking through the hash tags and finding something new!

picfx: I originally downloaded picfx for the cute bokeh effect filters that it has but now I just use it for their ordinary filters to edit my photos when posting something to instagram. I usually layer a couple of the filters on top of each other (they have hundreds of different ones to pick from) and you can import your photos directly from the app into instagram. It's really user friendly and so easy to use!

tv catchup: this is one that not many people seem to know about but it's great for watching live TV on your phone. They have lots of channels to choose from and if like me you don't have a TV in your bedroom then this app is great for watching TOWIE or Made in Chelsea in bed! Oh and it's free too which is great!

national rail: I get trains at least six days a week (that's at least twelve trains a week) and I love this app to quickly look up the times of trains. It also shows you if you have to change at all and what time your train is expected and if it's delayed at all. It's really quick and easy to use on the go and so much easier than using the national rail website

50 facts about me tag

today I thought I would be super duper original and do one of these '50 facts about me' posts- loads of bloggers have done this tag or one similar recently which I've really enjoyed reading as you get to know more about the blogger so I thought I would do one of my own so you can get to know me a bit better (if you don't leave half way through due to boredom...)
here we go!










1. I have an unhealthy obsession with nail polish and hate going out without it on- my hands look naked!
2. I am left handed and concequently my writing is always messy
3. One of my favourite things to do is baking
4. I am a very fussy eater
5. I love anything that's pink or floral (as you may be able to tell from my bedroom and blog)
6. I hate getting my hair cut- I'm always scared they will do it wrong
7. I hardly ever brush my hair so it's constantly in one big knot
8. Watermelon is my favourite fruit
9.  I live with my mum, dad and 13 year old sister called Freya
10. My makeup doesn't feel complete unless I have my bright lipstick on 
11. I hate being tickled
12. I'm technically Scottish (both my parents are Scottish but I've lived in England my whole life)

14. I can't sleep without my teddy bear
15. I absolutely HATE moths

39. I used to sail most weekends in a dinghy called an RS Feva- I competed for GBR in two world    championships, a European championship and several national championships

41. I have no idea what I want to be when I'm older

43. I've had my blog since October 2011 but for the first 6 months I pretty much just blogged to myself...
44. I've only moved house once- when I was 6
45. I'm currently saving up for an iMac- I've needed a new computer for ages and I can't wait to get it
46. I'm in sixth form studying geography, photography, business and biology
47. I spend too much time on social media websites
48. I would absolutely love to spend a Christmas/New Years in New York
49. If I could pick anywhere to live it would definitely be London- it's just so cool there
50. I don't have any piercing except my ear lobes- I've wanted my cartilage pierced on my right ear for years and I would love it if my dad would let me get it done (yes dad I know you're reading this. PLEASE.)

makeup tag!

1. How long have you been wearing makeup?

I remember buying my first ever mascara when I was christmas shopping in year 7! (I would of been 12 then) and I haven't gone many days without wearing it since!

2. What was your favourite makeup product in the beginning?

At the beginning I had literally no idea about makeup- I loved the dream matte mousse which looking back was horrible. I feel loads of people used to use that when they were young but I don't know why!

3. What is your favourite makeup product now?

I agree with Molly on this one! Nail polish would be my favourite but it doesn't count so I would have to say lipstick! It's a great way to completely change your look and there are sooo many different types/colours/finishes etc out there! 

4. What were some of your favourite brands in the beginning?

I used to use natural collection a lot ar first but then I think I went onto maybelline?

5. What are some of your favourite brands now?

I think my favourite highstreet brand for makeup is Revlon and for nail varnish it would be barry M! I'm also growing to love MUA and Collection 2000!

6. How would you describe your makeup style?

pretty natural but I like to go for a bold lip if I'm in the mood for it!

7. What is your everyday makeup like?

Pretty plain- a pink or coral cheek, baby pink lips and natural eyes!

8. What is your going out makeup like?

Similar to my everyday makeup but with more eyeliner and a bolder lip!

9. What makeup look are you known for?

When I was at school I used to get told off by the teachers for my bright lipsticks!

10. What is the worst beauty crime you have committed?

Probably the foundation lips! I used to put concealer over my lips (why oh why) because all the other girls did it.  I have no idea why because it looked awful!

11. What is the worst beauty crime you are proud to have not committed?

Like Molly I always remove my makeup before bed! I used to be rubbish at this but I can honestly say I haven't slept with it on in over three years!

12. What is one beauty trend your were part of but now aren't a fan of?

I'll have to mention the kohl eyeliner once more, I now realise that wearing it in my waterline is not a good look for me and completely closes up my eyes.

13. What is one trend you are proud to say you were never a part of?

Massively dark eyes when I was younger. I see lots of the year 8s at school experimenting with eyeliner and ending up looking like they have been punched in each eye!

14. What is one look you will never go for?

I agree with Molly again, I would never wear nude lipstick! I have one from elf which I bought years ago (I have no idea why...) and it makes me look completely washed out and gross! A big no no!

15. If you were brave enough to wear any look what would it be?

16. An old Holy Grail product of yours?

When I was about 13/14 I would of said the dream matte mousse foundation. I must of got through at least four pots of it even though it's horrible! If I had to say something which I discovered years ago but still love now it would be the natural collection blush! As I said earlier I used to love their makeup and I still really like their blush and lipstick!

17. A new Holy Grail product of yours?

this is so hard but I would say the urban decay all nighter makeup setting spray! I can't leave the house without spraying it over my makeup- it makes it look so much more fresh and it makes it last like 10000x (slight exaggeration) longer

okay so I thought I would add some massively cringey photos I found on my laptop from years ago so you could get an idea of what my makeup was like! (I think I must of had a bit of a 'thing' for black and white photos... Hahahaaa

What's in my bag?

I've been wanting to do this post for ages but never got around to doing it! My bag is the Zara satchel bag which everyone has (which is now in the sale!) I haven't had it too long but so far I really like it!
I think the photos are pretty self explanatory but if you want to know where anything is from just ask and I'll be happy to reply! I don't carry anything which most other people wouldn't but I'm pretty nosey and love to read these posts so I thought I would do my own one too!

Tag: How much my face costs, what's in my makeup bag and quick NOTD!

I had seen a few people doing these tags, and I thought it would be really interesting (but kind of scary) to see how much my 'everyday face of makeup' cost me!
This is what I generally wear when I'm going to school or if I'm not doing anything much at the weekend (if I'm in a rush I don't always bother with the the primer/eyeshaddow/

Primer: Elf mineral infused face primer £6.00

Foundation: Revlon photo ready £12.99

Powder: No7 creme touch £9.00

Concealer: Collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer £3.69 and Benefit erase paste £19.50

Mascara: Maybelline Define-a-lash mascara £8.19

Eyeliner: L'oreal superliner luminizer eyeliner £6.49 and The Body Shop eye definer in brown £8.00

Brow Pencil: No7 beautiful brow pencil £8.00

Eyeshadow primer: Benefit lemon aid £16.50

Eyeshadow: No7 Stay perfect eyeshadow in Wheatsheaf and Mink £8.00 each- £16.00 and MUA heaven and earth pallette £4.00

Highlighter: Barbara Daly glow up highligher £7.50

Blush: The Balm frat boy blush £13

Lipgloss: Benefit ultra shine lip gloss £14.00 or MUA lipstick (I use different colours each day but mostly shade 14 or shade 10) £1 each

Total= £154.86!!!

Wow, I am actually shocked at this! I never,ever thought it would be over £100! This is actually quite embarassing and I don't even have any high end products here (unless Benefit counts?) I am officially back onto my 'makeup spending ban' now! I have so much makeup that needs using up before I go and buy any more!

This is what I take with me to school in my school bag everyday aswell- incase you were interested!

And this is what makeup bag I use. I got it around two years ago- I have used it literally every single day and it hasn't broken! I love Cath Kidston accessories and they have never let me down!

And finally this fine glitter that I ordered off eBay a couple of weeks ago came today! I have tried it out on my little finger and it looks so cute!

Beauty questions tag: This or that?

Hello everyone,
today I really wanted to do a beauty tag post, and I came across this one on google and decided to give it a go!
Please do this tag too and send me the link if you do it, I would love to read them!

♥ Would you rather lose all of your mascaras, eye liners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all your palettes and eye shadows?

All of my palettes and eyeshadows because I rarely use them anyway, and I have much more lipsticks/ mascaras than eye shadows. There is really only one that I use everyday and that is a No.7 one called 'wheatsheaf' which I could easily purchase again!

  

♥ Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Hmmm, I would rather chop it all off because it would take a while to grow back, but it would eventually and I'm not really a fan of the whole wispy scraggy long hair anyway!

♥ Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Pink! I'm not really sure why, except from it's my favourite colour?

♥ If you had $1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or make up?

I would be so tempted to spend (and probably waste) $1000 on makeup but I would have to go for clothes.

♥ Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

Eyeliner as lipstick I guess...? It seems far less messy and I don't really fancy rocking the bright red eyeliner look an a daily basis!

♥ Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I would have to say MAC because we don't have Sephora in England, although I have visited while on holidays and it was lovely inside!

♥ Would you rather use only one eye shadow colour or one lip colour the rest of your life?

One eyeshadow colour, because as I said before I really only use 'Wheatsheaf' from No.7, and I love wearing bright red lipstick!

♥ Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in the winter?

Winter clothes in the summer because I guess it's better to be warm than freezing? And I love layering up scarves, jumpers and cardigans!

♥ Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Bright! I love wearing bright pastel shades all year round. At the moment my nails are a shocking blue and it's almost December!

♥ Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a pony tail or messy bun?

I wear my hair in a messy bun all the time and practically never in a pony tail!

♥ Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

Never use lip gloss because I could always use lipstick instead! And I couldn't live without my nail varnishes!

♥ Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or sharpie them in everyday?

Shave them because they would grow back in a few weeks?

♥ Would you rather live without make up or nail polish?

Wow, this one's hard. This is genuinely a hard decision. I have been sat staring out the window for the past two minutes now trying to weigh up the pros's and con's of each one... I would have to say, although it breaks me to do so that I would have to live without my beloved nail varnishes! Nooo!
