My favourite winter lipsticks- Tom Ford, Chanel, Revlon and MAC

Chanel 'la désirée' Tom Ford 'cherry lush' MAC 'rebel' Revlon 'cherries in the snow'
Chanel 'la désirée' Tom Ford 'cherry lush' Revlon 'cherries in the snow' MAC 'rebel'

It's no secret that I love a bright lip so I thought I would share you my top picks of my favourite bright autumn/winter lipsticks. They range in price from £7.49 to £36 so there's something for everyone, depending on your budget. I have chosen Chanel 'la désirée', Tom Ford 'cherry lush', Revlon 'cherries in the snow' and MAC 'rebel' as my favourite four lipsticks for this blog post. They look pretty similar in the swatch photo above but they look much more unique in real life.

I bought Chanel rouge allure 'la désirée' in December and I have worn it so much since. It's a very flattering blue toned dark semi matte red. The formula isn't the longest lasting one and if you don't use a lip balm and lip liner before you put it on I find it can settle in the creases of your lips after a few hours but if you use them first then you should be fine. The colour is gorgeous though and I love the black and gold packaging that it has
£25

Tom Ford 'cherry lush' was a really generous Christmas present from my friend Helen and I'm in love with it. I applied it at 10:30 on Monday with a lip liner and when I got home at 15:30 it still looked pretty much perfect with no touch ups at all- pretty impressive huh? The colour is absolutely gorgeous and the packaging is one of the prettiest and most luxurious things I've ever seen- whipping this out your bag to reapply is sure to turn a few heads!
£36

Revlon 'cherries in the snow' is one of my long time favourites and if you've been a reader of islaay.com for a while you remember that I used to wear it so much. I recently dug it out from my collection to start wearing again and quickly remembered why I loved it so much. It's the perfect mix of red and fuchsia, it's very flattering, has a very creamy formula (Super Lustrous formula) and is long lasting on the lips. Oh and it's a bargain too!
£7.49

Finally is MAC 'rebel' lipstick which I bought in New York in the summer and have been loving all winter. It is a satin formula which is very pigmented, creamy and long lasting on the lips. It looks very purple in the bullet but applied it is more of a fuchsia/purple colour and not quite as scary as it first looks. It is described by mac as a cream plum shade which I guess I would agree with!

my top five favourite lipsticks

Seeing as I'm such a lipstick junkie I thought I would do a video showing you my top five favourites! Sorry there's not much brand variety here by the way but I tend to stick with Revlon and if I want to treat myself I get a mac one!

my August favourites

Garnier 7 day intensive body moisturiser: it's cheap, it's good and I reviewed it here if you want to know more
Models Own 'disco mix': super glittery, doesn't chip and such an amazing colour!
Benefit 'hello flawless' foundation: leaves a nice finish on the skin without being too shiny/matte. If you live near a benefit counter ask one of the ladies to apply it to you so you can see what you think!
Elizabeth Arden 'visible difference' moisturiser: I've been using this for a couple of months now. It's meant to show visible difference in your skin after a week or so and I agree with that! My skin is a lot smoother and softer and tends to look more glowing when I wake up!
eos lip balm: my dad brought this back from America a while ago. They're so cute, smell lovely and do a good job at moisturising my lips! I wish these were readily available in England!
Essie 'mint candy apple': this is a firm favourite in the beauty community. It's the perfect pastel green/blue shade. You can get it discounted here with free delivery on cheapsmells.com
Revlon just bitten lip stain in ' crush': after hearing so much about these I knew I had to pick one up and I'm glad to say I agree with the hype! I like to wear this deep berry colour in the winter because I think it goes well with my dark hair so I can't wait for it to get colder so I can wear it more! It lasts a very long time on my lips without drying them out like normal lip stains. Oh and they're £2 off at the moment in Boots!

My favorite nail varnishes

Hello everyone,
I have seen a few people doing posts similar to this and so I thought I would do one too! I have so many nail varnishes it was so hard to take it down to my top four, but these are the ones which I reach for during the weekend (we aren't allowed to wear it at school)
Nails inc. 'Basil Street', Barry M 'Raspberry',  Leighton Denny 'Lollipop' and Barry M 'Flamingo'
Nails inc. 'Basil Street'- I tend to wear this one to school  during the week because we aren't allowed to wear nail varnish to school, but because I don't like wearing nothing on my nails, I find that this is a good nude colour to wear.
Barry M 'Flamingo'- this is probably my most reached for nail varnish in the spring/summer (although I sill wear it in the winter to brighten my mood!) It is the perfect bright hot pink without it being too luminous. I really love Barry M, they are my favorite brand for nail varnish because they are really good price and they have so many colours!

Barry M 'Raspberry'- this is my favorite colour to wear during the winter. It's more bright than it looks in the photo, but without it being a bright red. I think raspberry is a really good name for it because it is exactly the same colour as the raspberry jam that I had on my toast this morning!
Leighton Denny 'Lollipop'- my Grandma gave me this about 6 months ago. It is slightly darker than 'Flamingo' and it brings my tan out more during the summer and I really like putting it on my toes too.

Overall as you can see I really like bright pinks/reds. My favorite brand as I said earlier is Barry M because it is well pigmented, cheap and they have a wide colour range. I also really recommend Collection 2000 because they are such a good price (£1.79 in Boots) and they are so creamy and well pigmented! If you were wondering my favorite colour is Hoola hoop which is a bright pink!

Oh and I also bought these dotting tools off of eBay the other day and they came yesterday. I haven't used them yet but I can't wait to!

Thankyou for reading and have a lovely day

My lip balm obsession...

Hello everyone,
after reading Izzy's post on her lipbalm obsession on her blog- ....all things pretty which you can  visit and read here, I was inspired to do one myself!

Here is my collection so far!

And here are some of my favourite ones:

This is my Blistex daily lip conditioner. As you can see, it is very battered due to being in my school blazer pocket all the time! I use it several times every say and I think I have at least three of them in different bags and in my bedroom as well! It is so moisturising and it doesn't leave your lips feeling sticky. Also you can feel it working, it sort of tingles on your lips but it isn't an uncomfortable feeling. There isn't much of a smell to it. It just has a sort of vanilla smell which I quite like. I cannot find a link to one on the Internet, but I think I get them in Tesco and they are less than £3!

Next is the cherry Carmex moisturising lip balm.

I also like the strawberry one of these and the ones in pots but I cannot find them anywhere! I think I may have to buy another ones of them! As with the Blistex one it doesn't feel sticky, and it still has that tingling feeling to it. Here is a link to it on the Boots website.

Finally is the Creza lip balm.

The smell of this is absolutely delicious, it is cherry. I also have a blue passion fruit one but I much prefer this one. As you can see, it is also a much loved lip balm because it is really battered from being in different bags and makeup bags! I think my auntie bought it at an airport for me but I'm not entirely sure, and I have tried looking for them on the Internet before but I couldn't find them, gutted.

And finally two, three which are on my wish list.

First is the Palmer's cocoa butter lip balm. I have seen so many reviews saying how good and moisturising it it, but every time I look for it in my local boots they don't have it! I think they also do it in a squeezy tube like the carmex one above but I can't find that one either!

And finally are the Burt's Bees lip balms. I always eye these up when I am in boots but because I have so many that need using up I always put it off, but I think I will get some soon! Oh and also I put them off because they are £5.99 which is ridiculous for a tinted lip balm!

Oh one last one that I forgot, the eos lip balm. My Dad is going to America later this week for a few days with work, and I have made him promise that if he sees them he will buy like 10! I have seen soooo many reviews saying that they are amazing and I think the egg shape is so cute! I know you can get them on Amazon, but they are pretty expensive as well!

Thankyou for reading this and have a lovely day
