spots and stripes

When I was in London last week I bought a couple of stripers for my nails in a shop in Westfield (can't remember what it was called but it was on the bottom floor if that helps!) they were super cheap (99p each I think) so I picked a few up. I wanted to try one out so this is the design I came up with! It's very simple but I quite like it so I thought I would share it with you!

The colours I used were
Rimmel: 'tangy tangerine' 705
'marshmallow heaven' 702
La Colours: white striper
NYC: pinstripe white (for the dots)

I'm planning on doing a 'nail art 101' type of post soon so if you have any questions you want answered then leave them below!

what I've been up to recently...

I really enjoy reading these posts so I thought I would do one of my own! This is basically a collection of photos which show what I've been up to for the past couple of weeks, enjoy!

playing on the trampoline/holiday in Italy/dad going off on a sailing race round the UK for 2 weeks (which he won)/NEON ORANGE NAILS/fish and chips on the beach like the typical Brits we are/nail art mania/London trip/GCSE results day/grandparents 50th wedding anniversary in Manchester

I start back at sixth form in just over a week which to be honest I'm not exactly counting down the days for. When do you go back to school/college/uni etc? I know some people have been back for quite a while!
Oh and the paralympics kick off tonight which I'm really looking forward to watching on the TV!

what have you been up to recently? As I said earlier I love this sort of post so if you have one like it then link me up!

GCSE results!

Okay so it's that time of year again...
I always saw it shown on the TV and talked about on the radio but I never believed it would be me collecting that brown envelope but guess what I did today...
This morning I went into school to collect my GCSE results. We were met with crying girls stood at the door, anxious teachers and even more anxious parents waiting to see what was inside those brown envelopes.
I wasn't sure whether to do this post or not but, hey it's my blog so if I want to post it I dont see why I shouldn't!
Here is what I got:
Geography A*
Photography A*
Biology A
Chemistry A
Physics B
English Literature B
English Language B
Business Studies A
Citizenship B
Religious Studies A
Maths A
ICT Distinction (equivalent of an A)
PE 2 (I don't know what that means haha)

I still have to receive another 2 GCSE results in ICT but my teacher marked my coursework and she said I would almost definitely have another 2 A's which I'm obviously happy about!
So overall I have two A*s, six A's (8 if you include the two extra ICT results) and four B's
There are a couple which I was quite annoyed with (English and Business) because I was expecting higher but for English especially the results seem to be down all over the country and because I'm not planning on doing either of those subjects next year I don't really mind too much.
Next year I will be staying at the 6th form at my school and studying:
Geography
Biology
Economics
and either Psychology or Photography

Let me know if you like this type of post and if you have received any results recently please let me know what you got!

mini beauty haul!

this is just a few bits I've picked up over the past couple of weeks!

Sally Hansen airbrushed legs: I used this for prom/on holiday and i really liked it so I picked up another one!
St Moriz tanning mousse: this is super cheap and I love it! This is at least my 3rd bottle I think
Garnier 7 days intensive moisturiser  I love this moisturiser, I reviewed it here if you're interested
Batiste dry shampoo in 'Blush': I haven't tried this scent before so when it was in offer in Boots I picked it up as my other one has almost ran out
The Body Shop banana conditioner: this is my third bottle of this I think and I love the stuff! If you're not a banana fan I wouldn't recommend it (duh) but it smells really good!
Benefit Hello Flawless foundation: I had been wanting this for a while so I'm glad I finally have it! It's good but nothing to write home about I guess!
Mac Fix+: I've also been wanting this for a while after seeing it in theuglyfaceofbeauty's videos. I haven't really used it properly yet, but it smells alright!
Denman teasing comb: I've been on the look out for a teasing comb for a while because I've been wanting to do fun poof(?) things with my fringe and after a bit of googling I found out that this seems to be the best one! So far, so good!
Revlon just bitten kissable balm stain in 'crush': anyone else sick to death of hearing about these yet? After everyone and their mum (my mum included in this...) chatting about these I FINALLY picked one up. The colour is quite 'vampy' and I know it's going to look good in winter (yes I'm talking about winter already...) I tried it on and it goes well with my brown hair/eyes and because it's a stain it stays on for a long time too! Wooo

So that's everything! I'm sure there's stuff which I have forgotten but I can't think of anything at the moment...

I have a super busy week coming up this week (off to London Monday-Wednesday, GCSE results Thursday, off to Manchester Friday- Tuesday) so sorry if I'm a bit absent on here but I will try my best!

I love reading haul posts, have you done any recently? Leave a link in a comment!

these are just a few photos from my holiday in Italy last week! We went to lake Iseo which is in the North of Italy near Garda. I've been to Italy a couple of times before and I love it there!
We had a really good time, it was so hot (up to 41 degrees on one day!) The food was of course amazing and I think I had pizza at some point every single day... I'm sad to be back in rainy England and I wish I could of stayed there for another week!

Have you been on holiday yet or are you going anywhere soon? Let me know!
