Deborah Milano shine creator lipstick in shade 13 review and swatches

Deborah Milano shine creator lipstick- shade 13*

I was sent this lipstick the other day by Deborah Milano. Deborah Milano is one of the top Italian makeup brands so I was excited to try something from them. They've jsut came over to the UK- hopefully it's just as popular over here!

I decided to pick this shade from the shine creator range which says 13 on the lid but as there's no shade names on the website I can't link you to the exact one I got! It was quite a guess as to which lipstick shade I went for as the colours also weren't that clear on the site but I picked a nice red colour which thankfully I liked! It's got a formulation quite similar to the Revlon lip butters which I'm sure you'll of heard of before as it's got quite a sheer pigmentation but it's very moisturising at the same time. The colour comes out like a pale red/pink colour and look nice and natural on the lips. The staying powers isn't great as you'd expect for such a moisturising formula. I'd say you have to reapply every 2-3 hours or after I've eaten/drank which I guess could be worse! It has SPF15 in it which is great to protect your lips- especially with the warm weather coming up (who am I kidding- we're in England not Italy.)
The packaging is nice and quite unique and I also like how the logo is imprinted onto the bullet (a nice touch but once you've used it you can't tell it was there). It has has a scent very similar to vaseline which is quite pleasant and not too strong.

The shine creator lipsticks retail for £8.50 which is above UK drugstore prices but still reasonable compared to mac etc. Overall this is a nice lipstick, they have a good colour range and the formula/packaging is good too! I would like to see them bringing shade names and proper swatches to the website as it would make sense to!

Have you heard of Deborah Milano before? What do you think of the shine creator lipstick?

  5. I really like their nail polishes, and the lipsticks in the gold packaging and their blushes are amazing as well. I've also heard a lot of good reviews on the BB cream :)

    1. Okay so I know this really isn't my place to reply but, as someone with severe acne, it kinda pisses me off when people suggests its that easy to just "sort out your skin" ?! -.- argh

    2. Wow, bitch. Nothing better to do than troll the internet?

    3. @ Nora Lilly - It might "piss you off", but do you know how disgusting it is to look at someone with severe acne? Gross. Ever heard of a dermatologist?

@ Anonymous - Just speaking the truth. Sorry you can't handle it.

    4. I love this blog, and one thing that I do love about it is that Islaay doesn't strive to be perfect, she is who she is, as we all are. She gets spots, I get spots, I have wrinkles and one day Katherine, you will have wrinkles too, but one thing about Islaay is, she is beautiful on the inside and the outside, can you truly look in the mirror and say the same thing?

It's easy to judge people but when I'm thinking of role models for my 12yr old daughter, I'd much rather she look up to Islaay and read her blog than listen to someone like you.

      Something to think about perhaps?

    5. At least she is being truthful about her skin. Islaay is showing you how it looks on her skin and not her hand. She is showing her true beauty and she should be proud of the fact that she has posted these pictures. I think there is nothing wrong with it and she is just being her natural self. That is what a true blogger is. Someone who is real and shows the truth.

    6. I wrote the above comment.
I am 13 and I totally agree with Big Fashionista.
I am/would totally look up to Islaay for the fact that she is not hiding who she is.
I will get spots sooner or later and I should be show that I don't need to hide them, and that is exactly what Islaay is doing.

      Well Done Islaay xx

    7. I just thought I'd leave a little comment to say, you're awesome Islay! Katherine obviously has some serious personal issues going on if she feels the need to leave a hateful comment. Why is she even on your blog if she has such an issue with you? Oh, that's right - she's solely here to be nasty! Keep up the good work Islay and I'm so happy to see she hasn't knocked your confidence one bit! xxxx

    8. Wow, so not only are you saying that having nasty skin is okay, "Big Fashionista" is promoting obesity. Fantastic! When your 12 year old is spotty and overweight, you'll be saying "you're beautiful on the outside and inside".

Yeah, great mother you are (!)

    9. When or if my twelve year old gets fat/spotty I will still love her for her.

I bet your mother wouldn't say the same about you.

    10. i know i've already told you islaay but you're a beaut and everyone thinks the same. i'd rather see your real skin than an airbrushed false representation of yourself any day!

'katherine' obviously just enjoys being an unnecessary bitch behind her keyboard. i can't even comprehend what an exciting life she must lead.

anyways lovely, keep on bloggin', glad to see this troll hasn't bothered you too much and just made you/everyone who's aware of her existence do a massive sigh instead xo

    11. Just catching up on blog posts and see this!

All I have to say is Islay you are absolutely beautiful and people like this Katherine were probably not hugged much as a child so feel the need to be mean to anyone and everyone they come across.

Sadly she probably doesn't have many friends and finds great strength in being a bitch from behind her keyboard.

Anyway the lipstick is beautiful and so are you!

    12. Hahahaha. I love how you say Big Fashionista is not a great mother. You have said horrible things so you can't be a great person at all! Oh well, Islaay has more positive support than bad, so go you Islaay!

    13. Wow, this comment is awful. We have some form of keyboard warrior here.

"Sorting out your skin" isn't that easy and I hope to god you never get cursed with acne/spots because you know what, it completely destroys your confidence. There have been many times when I've not even wanted to live because of my skin. You don't know how Islay feels about her skin and you could've made it worse. You really should think before you type - just because you can't see the person doesn't mean they aren't real and their feelings won't get hurt.

The reason I love blogs is because we get to see real women. We don't see women behind all of the make up, the lights, the Photoshop. We see people like ourselves and it's refreshing to know that there are people out there just like us.

For the record Islay, you're absolutely beautiful and I hope this comment hasn't affected you.

      xx

    14. You are all going at Katherine here but the woman pointed out the obvious - to run a beauty blog you need to know a thing or two about beauty and how to take care of yourself. Otherwise, every silly person could end up claiming to be a beauty blogger. Certain standards need to be there, you see. And removing facial hair along with knowing how to care about and resolve your skin issues is a must. As an outsider here, I am getting the vibe that you're letting people know that it's okay to apply lipstick and put on tons of make-up yet not to take care of your complexion. No quality or quantity of make-up can disguise skin problems and having an irresponsible approach towards the biggest organ we have is just that - irresponsible. Aside from not looking aesthetically pleasing, this blogger has a skin problem and a very serious one for that matter. I do hope you will finally take appropriate measures towards getting better skin because I had serious acne, hormonal disbalance, took even Roaccutane. There is no excuse for not taking care of your skin. Skin is your base and without it, no lipstick, blush or foundation will look decent.
